Jessica Ginn (B.Bus in Tourism) - Conference and Incentive Executive
After Completing her Bachelor of Business in Tourism Jessica moved into the corporate conference sector working for leading pharmaceutical company Astrazeneca running their 22 room conference centre. She continued to expand her knowledge and experience to encompass wedding functions, incentive groups and private dinners working for a number of leading hotels and resorts in Sydney, The Whitsundays and Port Douglas. With her comprehensive experience, passion and a thorough understanding of the tourism industry Jessica can create a program to suit all budgets and requirements; showcasing the best Tropical North Queensland has to offer.
Sam Ferguson (B.Bus (Marketing), B.App.Sci) - Business Development Manager
Sam has an extensive tourism industry background working with Rydges Hotels and Resorts in both Brisbane and Sydney for 6 years. Sam re-joined the family business in February 2001 to work on growing the business and developing new opportunities in the tourism environment. Sam has played a key role in the development of the Conference and Incentive Division of the company.
The 2 Managing Directors of DCM are Mr Denis Donaghy and Mr Denis Ferguson, both of whom are long-term Cairns residents with extensive industry experience.
Denis Ferguson has an extensive airline background in operations and management with TAA for 17yrs, in Sydney Airport, Cairns, and 7 years in PNG. Denis coordinated the first Japanese Group travels to Cairns and established the first Tourism Destination Management Company in the region, now known as Destination Cairns Marketing.
Denis Donaghy has a tourism industry background that includes management positions with TAA (now Qantas), Lizard Island Lodge, and Cape York Wilderness Lodges, Thrifty Car Rentals, Bay Village Motel and DCM’s Tourism Marketing Division whose past clients include Kuranda Scenic Rail, Tjapakai, Coral Princess Cruises, and Down Under Tours.
